Terri Burt dreamed of one day opening a vintage store. In the spring
of 2000, she opened the Nitty Gritty with a roomful of "curbside
rescues" and the hopes that she could keep it open for at least six months.
Nine years and three Best of Louisville Awards stand as a testament to
her
strong vision and true passion for all things vintage. "
The clothes were made with such quality and attention to detail, and
they were made to last forever." She
also feels fortunate to be able to shop for a living, "You
never
know what you are going to come across out there. This is what keeps
my
flame stoked, and why owning the Nitty Gritty is so exciting; it is
always evolving, always changing. Dang it, Just Come on down!"
