1980s Formal Skirt by Victor Costa

Good vintage condition. I noticed the pockets [it has pockets!] were off kilter; it looks like someone moved the hook and bar closures on the waistband to make it bigger. I left it.

Measurements taken flat and doubled:

  • Waist 27” (original 24”)

  • Hip Free

  • Fabric content is 100% acetate, but it has a taffeta-like quality

  • The skirt itself has a narrow horsehair braid in the hem, while the full lining has a very wide horsehair hem

This skirt is really beautiful. I could see it with a crisp white dress shirt at a holiday party ala Carolina Herrera! It’s so swooshie!
